RAT SALAD IN THE END

Described in their Instagram bio as "chilling lofi beats to be disturbed by", the confounding debut single by Rat Salad is precisely that. Tumbling through semitones like nobody's business, broken beats and squishy synth bass provide the intentionally disjointed rhythm section of 'In the end'. Soon switching the track's main melodic hook to violin, this intriguing piece feels like a fitting introduction to Rat Salad - a London-based artist with a strong interest in contemporary dance and anti-capitalist jingles. We'll be keeping our eyes and ears firmly on this wonderfully left-field new venture. Listen to 'In the end' here now. -Holly Mullineaux
